DC inspected the strong room built in Polytechnic College, Sakatiya – BollywoodWallah

SP Nathu Singh Meena along with District Election Officer cum DC Jishan Qamar inspected the strong room built in Polytechnic College, Sikatiya for the Godda Lok Sabha elections 2024. During this time other officials of the district were also present. During the inspection, necessary instructions regarding the strong room and counting center were given to the concerned officials. Instructions were also given to complete other necessary facilities in the counting center by taking information regarding necessary facilities, route chart, alternative route chart, security arrangements, counting of votes in the form of fair elections, vehicle entry and exit. Discussions were held with the officials along with marking the counter for receiving EVM machines and the place for entry of vehicles in Vajragriha and counting centre. During this, he was asked to improve the cleanliness of the Strong Room and Polytechnic College Sikatiya campus and to make arrangements for drinking water, toilets, proper lighting and parking space for vehicles. Instructions were given to ensure proper arrangement of strong room, ballot box distribution center and counting venue, electricity facility in buildings, internet connection, water supply and proper arrangement of toilets. During the inspection, assembly wise parking arrangements for the vehicles coming for election work and different routes for arrival and exit were marked. Told that during this time, in the presence of political parties, due to the filing of election petition number 08/2020 in the Honorable Jharkhand High Court against the election of 17-Godda Assembly Constituency in the Legislative Assembly Elections 2019, all the EVMs related to the said area were sent to the Government Polytechnic. The college was kept safe in Vajragriha of Sikatiya till the execution of the petition. After the execution of the election petition by the High Court, instructions were given by the Chief Electoral Officer (Ranchi) to free all the EVMs and VVPATs and shift them elsewhere. As a result, all the above EVMs, VVPATs are currently kept in vacant rooms located on the ground floor of Old Treasury, Godda marked as EVM Warehouse. DDC Smita Toppo, SDO Baidyanath Oraon, Deputy Election Officer Pankaj Kumar, Dr. Pran Mahato, Executive Engineer Gautam Kumar Thakur were present on the occasion.
