Koderma district police have recovered the body of a girl from a closed mine. This stone mine located in Purnadih Mauza under Nawalshahi police station area has been closed for a long time. Police recovered the body of the girl on Wednesday (April 3).
Dead girl identified as Preeti Kumari
The deceased girl has been identified as Preeti Kumari (21 years), daughter of Kanhaiya Sao, resident of Purnadih. According to the information, the girl was missing from her house since noon on March 27. In this regard, the father of the deceased had given an application to register a missing case in Nawalshahi police station on March 28. Also requested the police for help in investigation.
The family members were continuously searching for the girl.
The girl’s family members were also continuously searching for the girl, but she could not be found. During the search, on the morning of April 3, when the girl’s father went towards the closed stone mine, he saw a dead body in the water filled mine. Seeing the dead body he screamed. Hearing his crying, a crowd of villagers gathered.
With the help of local people, the body was taken out of the closed mine.
The villagers informed the Nawalshahi police about the incident. On receiving the information, Nawalshahi police station in-charge Nitish Kumar reached the spot with the police force. Police took the body out of the mine with the help of local people. On receiving information about the incident, Circle Officer Ravindra Kumar Pandey also reached the spot and took information about the matter.

The body was sent to Koderma Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
Police have taken the body in their custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital Koderma for post-mortem. According to the relatives of the deceased, the girl had suddenly left the house due to minor scolding at home. After this she did not return home. At present the police is investigating the entire matter. The closed mine is said to belong to Ranganath Singh alias Birju, a resident of Masnodih. Its lease period is said to have ended last year itself.
