In Uttarakhand uniform civil code The discussion regarding (UCC) has intensified. The Uttarakhand Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved the UCC report. In the important meeting of the state cabinet at the CM residence auditorium, there was an in-depth discussion on the UCC report. Then the report was presented. After which the cabinet gave its approval to the report. After getting approval from the cabinet, it will be presented in the Assembly. If the green signal is received from the Assembly, Uttarakhand will become the first state in the country to implement UCC.

UCC report presented before the cabinet

The UCC report was presented in the cabinet meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence under the chairmanship of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. It is known that after the completion of legislative work on the UCC report, the UCC report was approved in this cabinet meeting. After getting approval, the UCC bill will be presented in the Assembly on 6 February.

Five-member committee submits UCC draft report to Dhami

The draft of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) for Uttarakhand could not be discussed in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday. After the meeting, it was told that the four-volume report of more than 740 pages is being studied and its legal aspects are being examined. It is known that on Friday, a five-member committee headed by retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai submitted the UCC draft report to Dhami.

Four-day special session of Assembly from February 5-8 for UCC law

A four-day special session of the Assembly has been called from February 5-8 to pass the law regarding UCC. The Commission has recommended that boys and girls will have equal inheritance rights, registration of marriages will be made mandatory and the marriageable age for girls will be raised so that they can pursue graduation before marriage.
