Whatsapp Banned Account in India: According to a recent company statement, Meta-owned WhatsApp has taken action against a record 69 lakh problematic accounts in India during December 2023 in compliance with the new IT Rules 2021. December ban statistics: Between December 1 and 31, WhatsApp banned 6,934,000 accounts. Notably, 1,658,000 of these accounts were banned as a precautionary measure without any user reports. During December, the messaging giant, which has more than 500 million users in India, received a record 16,366 complaint reports. Out of these, WhatsApp took action on 13 reports. “Account action” refers to instances where remedial action was taken based on user reports, including either banning an account or reinstatement of a previously banned account.
