After some time in the meeting, the members took the name of Nitish Kumar as the co-ordinator. But Nitish Kumar rejected this post. He said that Lalu Prasad Yadav can be made the co-ordinator. Congress officials including Congress President Kharge and CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury tried to convince him. But, they failed in this. Let us tell you that Nitish Kumar had taken the initiative to form the opposition alliance against BJP. At the same time, a consensus was reached on the name of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge for the post of chairman of INDIA Alliance. Kharge’s name for the chairmanship was proposed by Mamata Banerjee in the fourth meeting. Arvind Kejriwal had agreed to it.
