West Bengal: Uproar in Assembly over Sandeshkhali issue, 6 BJP MLAs including Shubhendu Adhikari suspended

After the uproar over the Sandeshkhali issue in the state assembly of West Bengal. Subhendu Adhikari Including 6 BJP MLAs were suspended. The state opposition leader claimed that the Assembly Speaker has suspended us on the orders of Mamata Banerjee. The six suspended BJP MLAs include Subhendu Adhikari, Agnimitra Pal, Bankim Ghosh, Taapsee Mandal, Mihir Goswami and Shankar Ghosh. On Monday, BJP MLAs reached the budget session of the Assembly wearing T-shirts written ‘We are with Sandeshkhali’. The speaker objected to this. After this the BJP MLAs started protesting. Along with raising slogans, they also started blowing whistles and after some time, BJP MLAs walked out of the assembly.

6 BJP MLAs including Shubhendu Adhikari suspended

After this, Assembly Chief Secretary Nirmal Ghosh proposed to suspend the entire parliamentary party of BJP. Later, Assembly Minister Shobhandev Chattopadhyay amended the proposal and proposed to suspend 6 MLAs including Shubhendu Adhikari. When questions were raised on the behavior of those six people, the Speaker suspended them. Shubhendu Adhikari said, the Home Minister and Chief Minister of the state do not come to the Assembly. Till date he has not answered any of the questions of BJP MLAs from the Home Department. He did not even answer questions about Sandeshkhali in the Assembly. We are suspended for asking questions. We are extremely happy to see Sandeshkhali’s mother and sisters being suspended in this manner to save their honour.

Shubhendu Adhikari is also leaving Sandeshkhali

BJP leader Subhendu Adhikari left for Sandeshkhali after walking out from the assembly. He says that we will go there and meet the suffering women and people and try to help them.
