Chance of heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted heavy rains and storms in various parts of Andhra Pradesh till November 23. There is a possibility of heavy rain in the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh and parts of Rayalaseema. An official of the Meteorological Department said that in the northern coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh, there may be rain and thundershowers in Yanam, South Coast and parts of Rayalaseema from Tuesday for the next three days.

Low pressure area is forming

According to the Meteorological Department, an area of ​​low pressure in the eastern direction at mean sea level is now passing over the Comorin area of ​​Andhra Pradesh coast. Apart from this, it has been observed that a cyclonic circulation has persisted over Comorin and adjoining areas and another similar circulation over the south-west Bay of Bengal near Tamil Nadu coast had merged into a low pressure area, the department said. It was cloudy in many parts of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has postponed the World Fisheries Day program and a public meeting in Tirupati district due to heavy rains.

Dense fog in Jammu and Kashmir disrupts flight in Srinagar, cold increases

The cold wave has intensified in Kashmir as the minimum temperature dropped below zero and flight services at Srinagar International Airport were disrupted on Tuesday morning due to dense fog. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Shopian in South Kashmir was recorded at minus 3.9 degrees Celsius. The department said that the temperature of Srinagar city was minus 1.2 degrees Celsius on Monday night.

Temperature in Qazikund minus 0.8 degrees

The official said that it was the coldest night in most places of the valley including Srinagar city. Qazigund, the gateway city of Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 0.8 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg ski resort recorded a minimum temperature of minus 0.6 degrees Celsius, he said. The official said that the minimum temperature was recorded at minus 2.9 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam and minus 2.7 degrees Celsius in Pulwama.

Demand to close schools in the valley

Meanwhile, there has been a demand for closure of schools up to primary classes due to the sharp drop in minimum temperature in the valley. The Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir, in a statement on Monday, demanded the administration to declare winter holidays for primary classes. On Tuesday, there was dense fog in most parts of Kashmir, due to which traffic was affected in the morning.

Air quality is bad in Delhi

On the other hand, there is news that the pollution level in Delhi-NCR increased overnight. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 365 at 9 am on Tuesday. Delhi’s AQI had increased to 348 at 4 pm on Monday, whereas it was 301 on Sunday. The AQI for the last 24 hours, recorded at 4 pm every day, was 319 on Saturday, 405 on Friday and 419 on Thursday. Along with this, air quality was also recorded in ‘poor’ category in Ghaziabad (340), Gurugram (324), Greater Noida (306), Noida (338) and Faridabad (336).
