The ICC Board member said, ‘The Under-19 World Cup has been shifted from Sri Lanka to South Africa due to the suspension of SLC. Participating countries were informed about this a few days ago after suspending SLC. South Africa also hosted the Under-19 World Cup in 2020. This decision was approved in the IC Board meeting in Ahmedabad.

Sri Lanka Cricket Board has already been banned

He said, ‘Sri Lanka’s bilateral series and domestic cricket will not be affected by this.’ After the national team was eliminated from the league stage of the recently concluded ODI World Cup, SLC itself had contacted the ICC and informed about government interference in the conduct of cricket in the country. “After hearing the representations from the SLC, the ICC Board has decided that Sri Lanka, after recently being suspended for breaching its obligations as a member, will no longer be a member of bilateral cricket and the ICC,” the ICC said in a statement released after the board meeting.
