After Telangana, Prime Minister Modi reached Tamil Nadu, where political turmoil has been raging in recent times. Days before the prime minister’s arrival, the chief minister had written a letter to Modi demanding that three coal blocks identified in the state’s Cauvery delta region be removed from the national auction list. The Center took immediate steps and removed all the three sectors from the list. State BJP leader K Annamalai also issued a statement thanking the Prime Minister for taking quick steps. However, when the Prime Minister inaugurated the new integrated terminal of the Chennai airport, Stalin was also present during this and a warm exchange was seen between them.
Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express flagged off
Stalin received the Prime Minister at the Chennai airport and later the two toured the new integrated terminal along with Governor RN Ravi, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and other dignitaries. In the next event, the Prime Minister flagged off the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express at MGR Chennai Central station. Stalin was also present during this.
