Lucknow. The State Election Commission (Panchayat and Urban Bodies) has deputed senior administrative officers as observers for the elections to be held on May 11 in 38 districts of the second phase. All the observers have been instructed to conduct fair elections by holding a meeting of the departmental officers in the district where they are posted. If an observer does not reach the district by the evening of May 06, then he will have to give an explanation. State Election Commissioner Manoj Kumar said that the senior administrative officers posted on the observer’s post have been instructed to reach the district headquarters where they are posted and inform them about the polling preparations. Observers will have to visit the constituencies and closely inspect all preparations related to polling so that all arrangements for free, fair and transparent polling are completed on time.
