According to the report, the country’s e-commerce companies are recruiting temporary employees to stay ahead of their competitors in view of the upcoming festival season. This is likely to create about seven lakh temporary jobs in the second half. The company said that this year there is a possibility of 25 percent increase in recruitment in the festive season as compared to last year. The process of recruitment for the festive season has started from July.

The demand for temporary workers has been increasing continuously during the festive season. This is seen not only in metropolitan cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai but also in relatively smaller cities like Vadodara, Pune and Coimbatore.

Balasubramanian A, Vice President and Business Head, TeamLease Services, said, “We have seen a 20 per cent year-on-year growth in demand for temporary workers over the last five years. This trend is likely to continue for the next two-three years.

E-commerce sector is developing dynamically after the financial year 2021 and has provided a huge number of opportunities for different jobs as per the countries.
