This film is the Hindi remake of the 2017 Bengali successful film Posto. Filmmakers Shibu Prasad and Nandita are the directors of this film like the original film. This film is on the topical issue of parenthood, which brings out many important aspects. Besides, this film has got the support of good actors, due to which despite some shortcomings, this family film should be watched once.

The story is about the ups and downs of relationships

Talking about the story of the film, it is the story of seven-year-old Momoji (Kabir Pahwa), who is torn between the love of his parents (Shiv Pandit and Mimi) and grandparents (Paresh Rawal and Neena). In fact, when he was three months old, after his health deteriorated, his grandmother brought him from Mumbai to Panchgani because his parents are working, so only his grandmother and grandfather have been taking care of him for the last six and a half years. His parents come to meet him on weekends but now they want to keep Momoji with them in Mumbai, but they do not have the courage to tell this to Momoji’s grandfather because the grandfather believes that parents are responsible for making a child a human being. What is most needed is time, which working couples do not have. Besides this, the grandfather considers his son useless. Everything is going on like this when suddenly Momoji’s father gets a very good job offer in America. Now he decides to go to America with Momoji but Dada is not ready for it. He approaches the court for the custody of his grandson. Who has the moral claim to keep the child? What will be the court’s decision and what does Momoji want? This film further answers these questions.

Advantages and disadvantages of the film

This film very well underlines the responsibilities of parenthood and the complexities associated with it in the present times. Every character in the film has been shown like a common human being. No one is perfect. While there are weaknesses in the son’s character, the arrogance of the grandfather’s character is also evident and the film also shows his selfishness in keeping his grandson with him. The film brings out all these aspects with simplicity. Talking about flaws, the basic story of the film is more or less not new. Many films have been made so far on the bond between grandparents and grandchildren. Along with this, more drama was expected in the courtroom but the film remains weak in that regard. Why did the character of Shiv Pandit leave his home? This has only been mentioned in the film. The second half of the film has also remained slow, due to which this story of relationships could not come on screen in the same effective manner as the first half had raised expectations. Talking about other aspects, the song music of the film is in accordance with the story. The cinematography of the film is good, which adds a color of peace to the film.

good work by artists

Talking about acting, veteran names like Paresh Rawal, Neena Kulkarni, Amrita Subhash, Manoj Joshi are associated with this film and they have performed as per their name on screen. Shiv Pandit’s acting is good, but he is definitely weak in emotional scenes. Mimi Chakraborty has managed to impress even in her first Hindi film. Kabir Pahwa looks very cute in the role of Momoji. Rest of the characters have also performed as per their roles.
