Share Market: Minor relief from recovery in weak market

Share Market Closing Bell: The Indian stock market had a disappointing start amid sluggish signals from the global market. Both Sensex and Nifty fell in pre-opening itself. However, after 10 am the market appeared to be in recovery mode. Then from 10.20 to 11 o’clock tremendous action was seen in the market. Then just before the start of inductive closing, Sensex and Nifty fell once again. At the closing bell, the Sensex rose 27.09 points to close at 73,876.82. Whereas, Nifty fell 6.90 points and closed at 22,446.40. Today stocks of 3945 companies were traded in the market. In this, a rise was seen in the stocks of 2763 companies. Whereas, shares of 1074 companies showed red mark. There was no change in the share prices of 108 companies. The midcap index witnessed a rise for the eighth consecutive day. There was a rise in the stocks of sugar, fertilizer, shipping, metal, oil and gas today.

How was the condition of Sensex and Nifty?

In the 30-share Sensex of BSE, 14 companies closed in profit while trading. Whereas, a decline was seen in the stocks of 16 companies. Till closing on Nifty, mixed business was seen in all sectors. The biggest decline of 244.30 points was seen in the FMCG sector. Apart from this, decline was seen in auto, pharma, private bank, reality and health care. Whereas, tremendous growth was also seen in IT and PSU banking. On Nifty, stocks of Shriram Finance, NTPC, Axis Bank, Tech Mahindra, TCS and Bajaj Finance were among the top gainers. Whereas, Nestle India, Bajaj Auto, Dr Reddy, Britannia and Kotak Mahindra Bank stocks have joined the category of top losers.

Domestic indices Sensex and Nifty fell in early trade on Wednesday amid weak global trends, high crude oil prices and withdrawal of foreign funds. The 30-share Sensex of BSE fell 281.18 points or 0.38 per cent to 73,622.73 points. NSE Nifty slipped 93.15 points or 0.41 percent to 22,360.15. In Asian markets, China’s Shanghai Composite, Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in loss. American and European markets closed mainly with a negative trend on Tuesday.
