He said that earlier its name used to be Saket. King Brihadratha was murdered by Pushyamitra Shunga. During this period lakhs of Buddhist monks were murdered. Then Saryu river turned red with blood. During this time its name was changed from Saket to Ayodhya. Not only this, he again raised questions on the existence of Lord Ram and said that Lord Ram is just an imaginary character. I do not say this but the Supreme Court had said this in its order.

He said that in canto number 109, chaupai number 134 of Valmiki Ramayana, it is written at a place that Tathagat Buddha and his followers should be given the same punishment as a thief. Now if Buddha is mentioned in Valmiki Ramayana, it shows that Gautam Buddha came first. Ramayana or Ramcharitmanas was written by Chaudhary in the 15th century, while the existence of Buddha is even older than that. He gave many other controversial statements during this period.
