People suddenly started jumping from the windows of roadways bus on Lucknow-Ayodhya highway, toll workers saved their lives amid screams.

UP Roadways News: In Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, the lives of the passengers were put in danger due to the sudden fireball of the Transport Corporation bus carrying passengers. It was fortunate that all the passengers got off safely before the fire completely engulfed the bus, otherwise a major accident could have happened. During this time, the luggage of some passengers was also burnt to ashes. During the fire, there was panic on the spot due to the way chaos was seen among the passengers and people started jumping from the windows. The roadways bus carrying passengers from Akbarpur in Barabanki to Kanpur caught fire as soon as it reached Ahmedpur toll plaza on Lucknow-Ayodhya National Highway. On this the bus driver quickly backed the bus away from the plaza. Before people could understand anything, within a few moments huge flames started rising from the bus. During this time, toll workers took the passengers out and some jumped from the windows to save their lives. The fire brigade team that reached the spot brought the fire under control after about two hours. However, by then the bus was completely burnt.

Toll workers gave information about fire in the bus

It is being told that the bus from Akbarpur depot in Uttar Pradesh was going from Ayodhya towards Lucknow with 60 passengers. When the bus reached Ahmedpur toll plaza located in Zaidpur police station area and stopped at lane number one, smoke started coming out from its engine. When the toll clerks informed the bus driver Brajlal Yadav about this, the driver quickly reversed the bus because there was a shed above the toll plaza. Besides, cabins are also built nearby. As soon as the bus was backed a little, the flames rising from the engine started spreading rapidly. This sudden incident created panic among the passengers.

18 women were traveling in the bus

The driver conductor asked everyone to get off the bus immediately to save their lives. During this time, the toll workers showed courage and started taking out the people traveling in the bus amidst the smoke. Within no time, a cloud of smoke was filled inside the bus. Amidst the screams, many passengers jumped from the windows to save their lives. There were about 18 women among the passengers. It was fortunate that everyone managed to get out a few moments before the bus completely turned into a ball of fire.

The fire was brought under control after two hours of effort.

After receiving information about the incident, the fire brigade vehicle reached the spot and kept spraying water on the bus for about two hours, only then the fire was somehow extinguished. However, by then the bus was completely burnt to ashes. Police have recorded the statements of driver Brajlal, resident of Ambedkar Nagar district, and conductor Ramskal Gupta regarding the incident. The conductor said that the bus also has a fitness certificate. Both of them stopped other buses passing through the highway and sent the passengers ahead. Sangeema and Neelam, residents of Ayodhya, came out quickly to save their lives during the fire. During this time his bag remained under the seat. It was not possible to enter it later due to the strong flames. It is being told that due to this, the clothes and Rs 15,000 cash kept in the bag also got burnt.

Investigation into the incident started

According to Zaidpur Police, prima facie it has come to light that the bus caught fire due to short circuit in the engine. ARTO Ankita Shukla told that under what circumstances the fire broke out in the bus, how this incident happened suddenly despite being fit, all these points are being investigated. Further action will be taken on this basis.
