Lucknow : Atiq Ahmed, an active member of the IS-227 gang and SP leader with Rs 50,000 reward and history sheeter Mohammad Javed alias Pappu Ganjia, has been arrested by the Special Task Force of Prayagraj. Pappu Ganjia was hiding in Ajmer, Rajasthan. He was absconding in about two dozen cases including extortion in Naini. A top police officer said on Monday that the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested an alleged criminal from Ajmer in Rajasthan. He told that Javed alias Pappu Ganjia was wanted in several criminal cases and there was a reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest.
Transit remand being processed
Deputy Superintendent (STF) Navendu Kumar said that IPC sections 386 (extortion), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) are involved in the heinous crime at Naini police station. A team of STF has arrested the accused from Ajmer police station. Process of transit remand is being done to bring history sheeter Mohammad Javed alias Pappu Ganjia to Prayagraj. At least 41 cases like murder and dacoity are registered against Javed.
