Early in the morning, a sleeper class bus collided with the divider at Mile Stone 117 of Yamuna Expressway in Mahavan police station area of Mathura and stopped in the middle of the expressway. Meanwhile, the car coming behind collided heavily with the bus. Then there was a huge explosion and both the vehicles started burning. The passengers saved their lives by quickly jumping off the bus. According to SSP Shailesh Pandey, 5 people traveling in Swift car were burnt alive in the accident. The car was being driven by Anshul Yadav, son of Manoj Yadav, resident of Shikohabad in Firozabad district. The dead have not been identified yet. The sleeper bus of Bihar number (BR 02 AA6496) going towards Noida went out of control on the expressway after hitting the divider. Meanwhile, a speeding car coming from behind collided with the bus in such a way that half of the vehicle got trapped inside the bus. As soon as the bus and car collided, there was an explosion and then a fire. The car and bus started burning in flames. Hearing the sound of the explosion, nearby people reached there. Tried to extinguish the fire, but the fire was increasing. Police was informed. The entire road was blocked due to fire in two vehicles on the expressway. One lane of traffic came to a halt. As soon as information about the accident was received, Mahavan police, fire brigade team and expressway rescue team reached the spot. Fire fighters are trying to extinguish the fire. The fire was so fierce that its flames were visible far away. The fire was extinguished within a few hours, but by then both the vehicles were burnt. As a precautionary measure, the police stopped the traffic going from Agra to Noida.
