Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Rahul Gandhi files nomination from Wayanad, Kerala

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has filed nomination from Wayanad, Kerala for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Before nomination, Rahul Gandhi also held a road show, in which a large number of people participated. Along with Rahul Gandhi, his sister and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi was also present in the road show. In the road show, Rahul Gandhi greeted the people present there by shaking hands. Along with Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra along with AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, AICC student wing Indian National Students Organization in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar and opposition in the state assembly VD Satheesan were also present.

Rahul Gandhi did a road show

Rahul Gandhi held a road show in Wayanad before nomination. Rahul Gandhi along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Kannur by helicopter at around 11 am. From there he reached the new bus stand of Kalpetta by road, the starting point of his road show. Hundreds of UDF workers were standing in queue for the road show. Rahul Gandhi had arrived for nomination by doing a road show riding on a big truck. A crowd of thousands of people also gathered with him.

I stand with the people of Wayanad on all their issues – Rahul Gandhi

During the nomination, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that he always stands with the people of Wayanad on all issues including the incidents of man-animal conflict which has taken the lives of many people in the district. Rahul said that he is always ready to draw the attention of the country and the world to the issues of the people of this hilly constituency. Addressing a crowd of thousands of people, including party workers and supporters, who attended his roadshow here, Rahul, who filed his nomination from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, said that Wayanad is his home, the people here are his family and he is proud of his beautiful history and culture. This land of traditions inspires them. He said, I am very grateful to the people of Wayanad for their unwavering support. As we enter a new era of justice, I want to reaffirm my dedication to serving each of you to the best of my abilities.

Big victory was recorded in 2019

Apart from Amethi, Rahul Gandhi had also filed nomination from Wayanad in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi had won the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 elections by more than four lakh votes. Now once again Rahul Gandhi is contesting elections from Wayanad. Today he has filed his nomination. From Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, Rahul Gandhi was defeated by BJP state president K. Surendran and Communist Party of India leader Annie Raja. Rahul Gandhi got more than seven lakh votes in the 2029 elections. Whereas his nearest rival PP Sunir of Communist Party of India got only around 2 lakh 74 thousand votes.
