Liquor pickup van going from Jamtara to Bihar caught on Govindpur-Sahebganj road, two arrested

A pickup van filled with boxes of spurious foreign liquor was seized during a vehicle checking operation near Ghoshaldih check post on Govindpur-Sahebganj main road on Saturday morning. It is said that the police had received information that a white colored pickup van number BR 01 GM 7419 was going to Bihar carrying boxes of fake foreign liquor from Narayanpur police station area of ​​Jamtara district. After that, the police started the vehicle checking operation near Ghoshaldih at seven in the morning. In the investigation being conducted under the leadership of SI Likhan Hembram, the said pick up van was caught, which was confiscated and brought to the police station. During this time the driver and helper were also caught. After thorough inspection of the box-like pickup van, 65 boxes of spurious liquor were seized. Among them were 62 boxes of English liquor McDowell Number One and three boxes of Imperial Blue. 24 bottles each of 375 ml were found in all the boxes.

The driver who was caught revealed his name as Suraj Kumar Mahato while the other revealed his name as Raju Mahato. Both are residents of Rosra Samastipur. Both of them told the police that the location was given to take the pickup van to Bagodar, after which it was possible to take the pickup van to Bihar. A case was registered against the two youths who were caught under IPC 414/420/272/273/290/34 and 47A Jharkhand Excise Act and were sent to jail. In this regard, the police said that on the basis of secret information action Has been done. Both the youth have been sent to jail.
