Jharkhand’s liquor syndicate becomes accused in Chhattisgarh, 26 government employees including IAS officers in the list

Economic Offenses Wing of Chhattisgarh has registered an FIR in the liquor scam of Rs 2161 crore. In this, a total of 70 people including the then Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma, Arunpati Tripathi of Chhattisgarh State Marketing Limited (CSMCL), Vidhu Gupta of Prism Hologram have been named accused. There are 26 government employees in this list of accused. Apart from IAS officers, various level officers of the excise department are included in this. This FIR has been registered in January 2024 at Raipur police station on the basis of information shared by the Enforcement Directorate under Section 66(2) of PMLA. It was said that the then Excise Minister of Chhattisgarh, officials of the Excise Department, the Managing Director of CSMC L, besides Prism Hologram and man power supply companies have carried out the liquor scam as part of a well-planned conspiracy. Businessman Anwar Dhebar gave political protection to this liquor syndicate.
