Aligarh: On Sunday, a protest was held by gheraoing the police station Sasni Gate due to lack of arrest against the murderer of Mahant Yogesh of Gorakhnath temple. In the month of September, the case of murder of Mahant Yogesh came to light in Gorakhnath temple located in Panch Nagari, while Mahant’s supporters protested for the arrest of the killers. The administration had also assured that the killers would be arrested, but till date the accused are roaming freely. Regarding this, on Sunday, Mahant’s supporters staged a protest at Sasni Gate police station and demanded the arrest of the killers. On Sunday, people of Kori and Mahor communities are holding banners and posters in their hands demanding the arrest of the killers of Mahant.
The stone in the temple was also broken
Mahant’s supporters have been continuously protesting in Bhim Vatika since October 7 to arrest the killers of Mahant Yogesh Nath, but even after the case has been registered, the accused are still roaming freely. On October 26 also, they staged a sit-in at Ambedkar Park and surrounded the Collectorate. Then SP City and administrative officials had given assurance of ending the agitation and taking action against the accused, but even after stopping the agitation, the accused have not been arrested till date. At the same time, the people of Kori community said that we are protesting under compulsion. Gorakhnath temple was built with donations by the ancestors of Kori community. There was also a stone laid here for the construction of the temple in 1995, which was broken a week ago. In this case, a complaint was filed in Sasni Gate police station. On which no action was taken. People of the same Kori community told that some land mafia want to take over the temple. For the last two months, people of Kori community have been continuously protesting.
Demand for arrest of murderers
BJP leader Sanju Bajaj said that a case was registered in the murder case of Mahant Yogesh, but no arrest was made, there is a continuous protest going on by the supporters of Mahant, but the police is not ready to take any action. Sanju Bajaj told that a trust was formed for the Gorakhnath temple and a banner with the name of the trust was put on the temple, which was torn by some people. The stone there was also broken. The tent at the place where the protest was going on was also demolished. The police are not arresting the accused in this incident, due to which there is anger in the society. In this case, the jurisdictional first Abhay Kumar said that this case is about 4 months old. In which there were no injury marks on the body of the deceased. No evidence of murder has been found from post mortem report and analysis etc. Unbiased deliberation while taking legal opinion is prevalent. People are being discussed regarding the incident, the same area officer said that there is complete peace on the spot.
