Earlier, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had given a statement on Thursday that, “I want to tell Congress that their Chirakut leaders should not speak about SP. These Congress people are with BJP. If I had known that there was no alliance at the state level, I would not have sent SP leaders to Kamal Nath, Digvijay Singh. On Wednesday, Kamal Nath said that talks are still going on with SP regarding alliance at the state level. There were also “practical errors”, he said. “Our candidates are not ready to contest on SP’s election symbol, even though SP says it is ready to field our candidates on its election symbol. In such a situation, what will we do? These are the practical aspects on the ground. However, Kamal Nath has also said that the party (Congress) agrees with Akhilesh Yadav on the need to defeat BJP in the elections. He says, “We want SP to help us defeat BJP. I thank Akhilesh Yadav, because his aim is to defeat BJP. He told this to me personally.”
