Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has launched it for the customers during a program. However, the booking of this electric vehicle started about 15 days ago. The starting price of ex-showroom Kinetic e-Luna in India is around Rs 69,990. In this, the company has fixed the price for X1 trim at Rs 69,990. Whereas, the price of X2 has been kept at Rs 74,990. After the start of its booking, B2B customers have booked about 50,000 units. At the same time, about 30,000 B2C customers have inquired about its features.

Kinetic e-Luna has a 2 kWh lithium-ion battery, which gives a range of about 110 km when fully charged. E-Luna 1.7 kW and 2.0 kW variants offer a riding range of 150 km per charge. It is being claimed that later it will come with the option of 3.0 kWh battery pack.

Speaking at the launch, Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO (Chief Executive Officer), Kinetic Green, said that e-Luna is expected to benefit from the prestigious brand ‘Luna’. Once it comes in the market, old memories will become fresh once again. He said that e-Luna is a very different product, which is going to break records with unprecedented price. He also said that today interest is being seen among people for electric vehicles (EV). It can cater to the needs of not only Tier 1 but also Tier 2 and 3 cities.

On the occasion of the launch of Kinetic e-Luna, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the sales of electric vehicles are increasing rapidly in the automotive industry. He said that what attracts my attention about e-Luna is not only the reduction in carbon footprint but also its ability to penetrate into rural areas as well as Tier 2, Tier 3 cities of India. This is the place where the real India is. He said that this is a medium which encourages geographical inclusivity.

At the same time, Kinetic Green has set a target of selling more than 1 lakh units of e-Luna in the financial year 2024-25. Its target is a turnover of Rs 1,200 crore. The company says that in the next financial year, revenue of around Rs 800 crore is expected from Luna segment alone. This Pune based company currently has a turnover of around Rs 350 crore. Along with this, the company also says that after the strong response from B2B customers and commerce companies, the company expects to sell 50,000 units to these customers. The company is planning to invest Rs 100 crore in the next 12-15 months on brand building and marketing of the brand.
