Dhanbad : February 4 was a special day for Dhanbad. On one side, the carcade of former Congress National President cum MP Rahul Gandhi was from East Tundi to Telmachho bridge and programs were held throughout the route. JMM’s foundation day ceremony was organized at the golf ground. Apart from Chief Minister Champai Soren, two MPs and many VIPs were to participate in the program. In such a situation, special security arrangements were made by the district police and district administration.
From police personnel to officers were deployed since morning
Rahul Gandhi’s carcade was to start from East Tundi and go towards Bokaro via Govindpur, Randhir Verma Chowk, Pooja Talkies, Shramik Chowk, Bank Mod. Rahul Gandhi had to stay and programs were organized at many places. Along with the district police, the district administration team was also engaged since Saturday evening regarding the security of Rahul. On Sunday morning, security forces were deployed in the entire district (the route through which they were to pass) from East Tundi. The entire route through which Rahul Gandhi was going was cleaned. Water was sprinkled on the roads by running sprinklers of the Municipal Corporation. Due to this the whole city was looking neat and clean.
Shops not seen on footpath
Due to Rahul Gandhi’s Nyaya Yatra and JMM Foundation Day celebrations, the district administration had closed roadside shops. Security forces were deployed everywhere. No one was allowed to set up shop on the footpath.
