Dhanbad: Clash between supporters of MLA Dhulu Mahato and Ragini Singh, half a dozen injured

Two groups of BJP clashed with each other on Monday night in Akra of Loyabad police station area. One group is said to be the supporter of Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahato, while the other group is said to be the supporter of BJP leader Ragini Singh. About half a dozen people from both sides have been injured in the incident. The reasons for the incident have not been known. Jaswant Singh, nephew of Dhulu supporter Sunil Rai, has been seriously injured in the fight. He has been hit on the head with a sword. He was admitted to a private hospital for treatment, from where he was referred to Durgapur. Other supporters of the MLA are also injured. Ragini Singh supporter Satendra Kewat’s nephew Sujit Kewat was also injured in the incident. He has been admitted to SNMMCH for treatment. Satyendra and some of his supporters are also injured in the incident.

It is said that at around 8.30 pm, a fierce fight broke out between the supporters of MLA Dhulu Mahato and BJP leader Ragini Singh. The fight took place in two rounds. In the first round, there was a fight with Sunil Rai’s nephew, due to which the villagers of Basudevpur number 14 became furious and clashed with Satyendra Kevat and his supporters in Ekra. As soon as the information was received, Loyabad police station in-charge Rajan Kumar Ram reached the spot and chased away the people who were fighting, but due to less police force, he had to struggle a lot. During this time, ASI Pratap Oraon of Loyabad police station was also hit by stones in the stone pelting, due to which he got injured. Apart from Loyabad police, Putki, Kendua, Bhagabandh and Jogta police camps are present on the spot. The situation remains tense. In this regard, a call was made to the number of BJP MLA Dhulu Mahato and Ragini Singh to take their side, but the MLA did not pick up the phone, while Ragini Singh’s phone was found switched off.
