Decision will come at 11 am
The Gujarat High Court will give its verdict on the petition of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. According to the list released by the court on Thursday, the court of Justice Hemant Prachhak will pronounce the verdict at 11 am on Friday. Staying the conviction will pave the way for restoration of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s membership of Parliament.
Denial of interim relief
Let us tell you that Justice Prachhak had refused to give any interim relief while hearing the petition of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi in May and said that he would pass the final order after the summer vacation. Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer argued in the Gujarat High Court during a hearing on April 29 that a maximum sentence of two years for a bailable and non-cognizable offense meant his client could lose his Lok Sabha seat.
