Bikaner railway track becomes election issue in Rajasthan, demand to build elevated road gains momentum

Bikaner : The date of Rajasthan assembly elections is near. The railway track of Bikaner market has become an election issue in this election. The railway line passing through the main market of Bikaner, one of the major cities of Rajasthan, has become a big election issue. This railway line sort of divides Bikaner into East and West Bikaner. Local people demand that the traffic jam caused by the railway line should stop and the leaders should fulfill their promise of providing elevated roads. People of the city said that due to the railway line, there is traffic jam in the entire market every day.

Railway track becomes burden on Bikaner

Bikaner resident KK Gehlot told the media that this is a burden on the city. The development of the entire city is hampered only because of this railway line. The city is divided into two parts – East and West. If there is a traffic jam in the area, it becomes a major problem in situations like medical emergencies, as it takes at least an hour for the traffic to flow smoothly.

The proposal to build a bypass in the budget is in trouble

Earlier, a resolution for bypass was passed in the assembly budget session, but nothing happened later. This proposal has also fallen into disrepair. KK Gehlot alleged that no party leader has taken any initiative to resolve this issue. He said that political party leaders can only indulge in allegations and counter-allegations. That’s all they do.

Daily movement of 30-35

He said that the railway line located in the markets near Kote Gate and Shitala Gate divides Bikaner into east and west parts. Every day about 30 to 35 trains run on this track at an interval of 30 minutes to an hour. Let us tell you that BJP’s Siddhi Kumari, the sitting MLA from Bikaner East, is trying her luck again on her party’s ticket. Meanwhile, Congress leader Bulaki Das Kalla is the MLA from Bikaner West and is contesting elections again.

The problem has persisted for 40 years

Bikaner West resident Ganesh Khatri told the media that we want this problem to be resolved soon. We have been facing this problem for the last four decades and our demand to find its solution has not been fulfilled yet. He said that the citizens of the entire city are fed up with this problem. If the elevated road had been built, perhaps we would not have had to face so many problems. Another resident of Bikaner West said that traffic jams are a common problem around this area. This happens all day long. There is no alternative route even for an ambulance.

What do the public representatives say?

On this issue, outgoing MLA and Congress candidate from Bikaner West assembly constituency Bulaki Das Kalla said that if he comes to power again, the issue of railway track will be resolved in seven months by building an elevated road. Kalla told that I am contesting the elections on the basis of development works. If there are no legal hurdles in the next seven months, people will not have to wait on the railway tracks right in the middle of the city. He further said that the construction of underbridge at Rani Bazar had started two months ago. In other parts of the city, 75 percent of the roads have been repaired, work on the rest is still going on. Let us tell you that voting for the assembly elections in Rajasthan will be held on 25th November and counting of votes will take place on 3rd December.
