Bihar: Many roads will remain closed in Patna on August 15, vehicles will not ply, see full list before leaving home

Independence Day: There will be no operation on many routes in Bihar’s capital Patna on 15 August. The district administration has made changes in the traffic system regarding the main function of Independence Day. Vehicles going north from Veltas Marg can reach Vidyapati Marg/Buddha Marg till Police Line Tiraha. Only pass holder vehicles will be able to go in the flank coming from Galambar to AN Sinha Sansthan, Gandhi Maidan in front of Commissioner’s office on Ganga Path. Arrangements have been made for private vehicles to go towards Patna Junction, Dak Bungalow Chairaha in Fraser Road, from there towards east towards Bhattacharya Chowk, Pirmuhani towards Nala Road. If any vehicle comes to the exhibition road, it will be sent back to Bhattacharya Mead from the cut in front of Smart Big Bazaar.

The western flank of Fraser Road from Dak Bungalow Square to JP Golambar will be open only for the vehicles of the Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and their family members and VVIPs and VIPs. Autos coming from Patna Junction to Gandhi Maidan will take right turn from Dak Bungalow Square, New Dak Bungalow Road, take left from Bhattacharya Square and Exhibition Road till Big Bazar South Cutting and from there go back to Patna Junction via Bhattacharya Road Square, CDS Building, Gariyateli. City Bus Service or City Ride Service buses plying from Engineering College will come to Patna Junction at Gandhi Chairaha, Machhua Talli, Dariyapur Tiraha to Nala Road, Peermuhani, CDS Building, Garia Talli and will return via the same route.

Commercial vehicles (autos or e-rickshaws) coming from Patna City side will come at Musallahpur Haat, Bari Path till Khazanchi Road, southern end and then from there vehicles will come at Ashek Rajpath, northern end of Khazanchi Road, till Gaighat.

Patna Police has completed preparations regarding Independence Day. SSP Rajeev Mishra told that additional police personnel will be deployed on the related routes from Gandhi Maidan. Many routes will be changed. He told that a permanent police station has been set up at Gandhi Maidan. All police station heads have been instructed to conduct intensive investigation campaigns in their respective areas. Identify the suspects by conducting search operations in hotels, railway stations and other crowded areas and take further action after questioning them.
