Gulab Kaur, this brave daughter of Punjab left the beautiful life of the Philippines to serve the country. participation in the freedom movement decided to take. Despite all the hardships, he did not give up. Kept the country above the family at every step. In the freedom movement, she walked step by step with men and died for the country. It is said that she was married to Man Singh at a very young age. After marriage, the newlyweds decided to go to the Philippines for a better future. During her stay in Manila, she came in contact with the members of ‘Gadar Party’.

Important contribution in liberating India from British rule

Actually, it was an organization of Indian revolutionaries. Here she got inspired by the thoughts of the leaders of the organization. After this, she decided that she would join this organization and contribute in liberating India from the British rule. The husband did not agree with her decision. After this, she made up her mind to move forward alone on this challenging path. She returned to India with about fifty patriots with sentimentality in mind and jumped into the freedom struggle. Then he did not look back.

Made people aware for the freedom struggle

After returning home, she became active in places like Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar in Punjab. Here she used to make people aware about the freedom struggle. In this sequence, he had to travel to jail several times. Despite all kinds of problems, she did not back down. Because of her revolutionary steps, she once again came into the eyes of the British government. He was caught by the British authorities in 1929. She was imprisoned for two years in a fort in Lahore (Pakistan). During this he was continuously tortured. Experts say that when she came out of jail after two years, she had become very weak and sick. However, the revolutionary blood flowing in his veins did not rest. After a few years, he sacrificed his life for the country.

Got the title of ‘Gadri Gulab Kaur’

Gulab Kaur was born in 1890 in Bakshiwala village of Sangrur district of Punjab in a farmer’s family. Due to her revolutionary activities, she was given the title of Gadari Gulab Kaur. To make the new generation aware of Gulab Kaur, in 2014, Kesar Singh has written a novel in Punjabi named ‘Gadar Di Dhi Gulab Kaur’. His contribution has also been discussed on the website related to the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.

Inspired people by distributing revolutionary literature

Experts say that Gulab Kaur had played an important role in distributing the literature related to the Indian freedom struggle among the people. He kept a close watch on the printing press. Presenting himself as a journalist on several occasions, he helped his colleagues. By promoting revolutionary literature, the common people were also encouraged to join the freedom movement.
