Begusarai is giving competition to Patna in wealth, know which district is the poorest in Bihar

Patna. There are huge disparities in the scale of development between districts in Bihar. Some districts of the state are developed, while some districts are quite backward. According to the ranking of all the indicators released in the Economic Survey 2023-24, Patna, Begusarai, Muzaffarpur, Sheikhpura, Bhojpur and Saran are developed districts, while Araria, Shivhar, Banka, Kishanganj and Lakhisarai are backward districts. The richest district of Bihar is Patna and the poorest is Shivhar.

Munger is at third place in terms of richness

Begusarai district is at second place in richness and Munger district is at third place. At the same time, Araria is at second place in poverty and Sitamarhi is at third place. This has been revealed in the Economic Survey of Bihar 2023-24. The per capita income of the state is Rs 59637, while that of Patna is Rs 114541. Whereas the per capita income in Begusarai is Rs 46991 and that of Munger is Rs 44176. Compared to both the districts, the gap between rich and poor in Sheohar is much deeper. The per capita income of Sheohar is Rs 18980.

Six times difference in per capita income between poor and rich districts

The economic survey has given the ranking of 38 districts according to per capita income. The three most prosperous districts of Bihar are Patna (Rs 114541), Begusarai (Rs 46991) and Munger (Rs 44176). The per capita income here is the highest in the state. Talking about the poorest districts, they are Sheohar (Rs 18980), Araria (Rs 19795) and Sitamarhi (Rs 21448). The extent is that the per capita income of Patna is more than six times that of Shivhar, the poorest district of Bihar.

The lowest consumption of petrol is in Banka, Lakhisarai and Shivhar, while the consumption of diesel is lowest in Shivhar, Siwan and Gopalganj. The top districts in LPG consumption are Patna, Begusarai and Gopalganj, while the least in terms of consumption are Araria, Banka and Kishanganj.
