Amidst Israel-Hamas war, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi called PM Modi, know what happened

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has talked with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There was a phone conversation between the two leaders on Monday. Raisi sought India’s help in ending Israeli action amid the ongoing war in Gaza. Iranian readout has given information regarding the conversation between the two leaders. Accordingly, Raisi spoke to PM Modi regarding India’s struggle against western colonialism and India’s position as one of the founders of the Non-Aligned Movement in the world. It has been said in the statement that at present people are looking towards India with expectation. India is expected to use all its capabilities to end crimes against the oppressed people of Gaza.

The Iranian President further said that Tehran supports any global joint effort to achieve an immediate ceasefire, lifting of the blockade and providing assistance to the oppressed people of Gaza. He said that the killing of Palestinian people is continuing due to which there is anger in other countries of the world. There is a danger that this murder may have other consequences. Further, the President of Iran said that he is saddened by the killing of innocent women and children. Attacks on hospitals, schools, mosques, churches and residential areas cannot be accepted in any form.

Talks regarding Chabahar port

Another topic was discussed between Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and PM Modi. Raisi described Tehran’s approach to relations with India as ‘strategic’ and stressed the need to develop cooperation in the region and plan to compensate for the delay. Emphasizing the importance of the North-South Corridor and its benefits for all countries in the region, President Raisi emphasized that India is expected to make serious investments to strengthen sustainable economic cooperation, including the Chabahar Port.

Regarding this conversation, a statement has also been issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in which it has been said that PM Modi expressed deep concern over terrorist incidents, violence and deaths of civilians. In a phone conversation with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the Indian Prime Minister reiterated India’s long-standing and consistent stand on the Israel-Palestine issue. The statement said that both the leaders expressed their views on the difficult situation in the West Asia region and the Israel-Hamas conflict. PM Modi expressed deep concern over terrorist incidents, violence and deaths of civilians. During the talks, he reiterated India’s old and consistent stand on the Israel-Palestine issue.
