Opposition parties have started uniting for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. Therefore, the third meeting of the opposition alliance INDIA was held in Mumbai. 63 leaders of 28 parties participated in it. In this important meeting, a consensus has been reached on 5 committees. Opposition alliance ‘INDI-A’ on Friday constituted a 14-member coordination committee as the apex body of the alliance. Along with this, 19-member election campaign committee, 12-member working group related to social media, 19-member working group for media and 11-member group for research were also announced.
The coordination committee includes Congress’s KC Venugopal, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, DMK leader TR Baalu, JDU president Lalan Singh, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Trinamool’s Abhishek Banerjee, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. Apart from this, Sanjay Raut, Raghav Chadha, D Raja Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Javed Ali Khan have also got a place in the committee. A leader from CPI(M) will join later. Seat sharing work for the upcoming elections will be completed by September 30.
Hemant Soren is the only CM in the coordination committee: One Chief Minister, one Deputy Chief Minister, two former Chief Ministers, five Rajya Sabha and two Lok Sabha MPs have been given place in the opposition committee. Apart from this, two leaders from the Left have been included in the committee. The committee includes Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.
There will be no coordinator of the alliance: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said that there is no need of a convenor for ‘India’. The coordination committee of the front, which has been formed, will work on the basis of consent. He also said that the program of releasing the ‘India’ logo has been postponed so that people’s suggestions can be taken.

These leaders also attended the meeting: More than 60 representatives of 28 parties attended the two-day ‘India’ consultation at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mamta Banerjee, MK Stalin, Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad and other leaders were present in the meeting.
