Yogi government’s instructions to help destitute elderly people reach old age homes during severe cold in Uttar Pradesh.

In view of the severe cold in the state, Yogi Government has directed to run a campaign to rescue the destitute elderly people shivering on the roads. Yogi government directed the officials to run a campaign to send destitute elderly people to old age homes, so that they can be saved from the cold wave. Also requested the common citizens to help the destitute elders by giving information on Elder Line 14567 and UP Police Helpline No. 112. Minister of State for Social Welfare (Independent Charge) Asim Arun has written a letter to the DGP seeking the cooperation of the police department in surveying destitute elderly people and taking them to old age homes with respect. District Social Welfare Officer across the state will contact the Superintendent of Police/Commissioner of Police of their district and establish coordination. If the police personnel see any destitute elderly during night patrolling, then with the help of the Social Welfare Department, they will be respectfully taken to old age homes.

All facilities are available in old age homes

Let us tell you that old age homes are being run by the Social Welfare Department in all 75 districts of the state. In these ashrams, food, warm clothes, medicines, means of entertainment etc. are provided to the elderly. Besides, the facility of a doctor is also available so that sick elderly people can be treated if needed. The old age homes run by the Social Welfare Department have full capacity to house destitute elderly people. Meanwhile, Minister Aseem Arun said that the Yogi government is continuously working for the safety, health and respect of the weak and destitute elders of the society. For this, adequate arrangements have been made by the government in old age homes. A campaign has been started to save destitute elderly people from the cold wave.
