Lok Sabha Election 2024: For the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Yogi government has issued instructions to the Transport Corporation to provide good buses. According to the instructions, the fitness of the buses deployed in the elections should be checked, the next fitness date of the buses should be only after the end of the election period and if necessary, advance fitness should be done. According to the government, unfit buses will not be sent under any circumstances. Also, the drivers will be sent on election duty only after checking their license validity. State Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh said that the buses which are off-road should be on-roaded immediately. Under no circumstances should the offroad of buses be more than 1 percent during the election period. The physical condition of the buses should be good; seats, spare parts, windows, doors etc. of the buses should be checked and repaired. It should also be checked whether the headlights, taillights, indicators, horns, wipers, etc. are working properly in the buses. First aid boxes with medicines must be available in buses. The Transport Minister directed that the corporation’s helpline number 18001802877 must be written at the designated place on the buses. If due to some reason a major fault occurs in the bus, then make sure to provide another bus in its place. Arrangements for alternative vehicles should be made for this.
Transport Corporation will set up BS-6 urea production unit
Let us tell you that Urea i.e. Diesel Effluent Fluid (DEF), which is used to reduce pollution in BS-6 buses, will now be produced by the Transport Corporation itself. The Transport Corporation is working rapidly in this direction. State Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh said that at present the urea used to control smoke in BS-6 buses is purchased by reputed companies through tender in the open market. After setting up the production unit in this area, there is an estimated reduction of about 20 percent in the expenses of the Transport Corporation. Recently, the Urea production units operating in the market have been inspected by the officials of the Transport Corporation, after which the technical officers themselves are brainstorming on setting up a urea production unit in the Transport Corporation. He said that the Transport Corporation has significantly reduced its financial expenses by retreading the tires used in its buses. Similarly, setting up urea plants to be used in BS-6 buses will reduce the financial expenses significantly and will be beneficial for the corporation. The Transport Minister said that BS-6 buses, besides being state-of-the-art, cause minimum pollution. Purchasing of BS-6 buses is important from the point of view of the transport corporation as well as the health and convenience of the people.
