Ranchi: The title clash took place between India and Japan in the Jharkhand Women’s Asian Champions Trophy-2023 on Sunday. Ranchi India defeated Japan 4-0 at the Jaipal Singh Munda Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Marang Gomke. China has won the bronze medal in the Jharkhand Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2023. China defeated Korea 2-1 in the bronze medal match played at Jaipal Singh Munda Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Marang Gomke, Ranchi on Sunday. For China, Yi Chen scored the third goal and Tiantian Lou scored in the 47th minute, while Sujin An scored the only goal for Korea in the 38th minute. Let us tell you that Korea had to be content with fourth place, Malaysia with fifth place and Thailand with sixth place.

Hockey craze is at its peak
A crowd of sports lovers gathered on Sunday to watch the final match between India and Japan for the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy at Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. There was a long queue outside the stadium. Everyone wanted to enter the stadium as soon as possible. Officers were busy controlling the crowd. When some sports fans did not get entry even after standing in line for about five-six hours, they got angry. Others, including the girls, said that even after standing in the queue for so long, they were not allowed inside, while those behind them were sent into the stadium.

Sports lovers had gathered outside the stadium in Ranchi to watch the final match between India and Japan at 8.30 pm and to witness this great battle of hockey. A long queue of sports lovers was forming outside the hockey stadium. The craze of hockey was affecting people of every age group including youth. A long queue of sports fans was seen on the roadside and police officials were controlling them. Youth, children, girls and women as well as elders were excited to watch the great battle of hockey. A long queue of sports lovers was visible near Karamtoli Chowk. Let us tell you that in the first semi-final, Japan defeated China 2-1 while in the second semi-final, India entered the final by defeating Korea 2-0.

The final match of Jharkhand Women’s Asian Champions Trophy-2023 was played between India and Japan on Sunday. Both the teams entered the title match by winning their respective semi-final matches at Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi on Saturday.
Six teams were involved
Apart from host India, teams from China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand were included in the Jharkhand Women’s Asian Champions Trophy-2023. After the league stage, the top 4 teams in the points table qualified for the semi-finals. The Indian team has won silver medals in 2013 and 2018.
