With the help of ‘front view mirror’ in vehicles, police will prevent accidents due to ‘blind spot’

Kolkata, Vikas Kumar Gupta: Road accidents are happening in different areas of the metropolis due to ‘blind spot’ (the space below the front side outside the driver’s seat of the vehicle drivers). For example, if a person or a bicycle passes in front of a large vehicle, it is not visible to the driver sitting on the steering wheel. Because of this many accidents happen in the metropolis. To stop this, initiative has been taken by the Kolkata Traffic Police. To get rid of this problem from the side of the police, ‘front view mirrors’ are being installed in the vehicles.

Traffic guard policemen getting front view mirrors installed in buses

In different areas of the metropolis, policemen of traffic guards are going to private bus stands in their areas and getting ‘front view mirrors’ installed in buses. This scene was seen at the private bus stand located in North Kolkata’s Baghbazar, where policemen are installing front view mirrors in the buses. With this mirror, sitting on the driver’s seat in all vehicles, the drivers can easily see who is moving below in the outer part.

After the death of the student in Behala, the accident was revealed in the blind spot itself.

A senior official of Lalbazar said that though there has been a significant reduction in road accidents on the roads as compared to earlier, but accidents due to blind spots are not being stopped. The death of the child in Behala was also due to blind spot. For this reason, due consideration is being given to “front view mirror” to prevent road accidents caused by blind spots. Gradually, this glass is being installed in vehicles by various traffic guards and police stations of the metropolis. He hoped that after its installation, the problem of blind spots of the drivers would end. Due to this, road accidents will also reduce.
