Will jointly resolve the impasse on seat sharing with Trinamool: Jairam Ramesh

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said on Thursday that his party is hopeful that the impasse over seat sharing with Trinamool Congress will be resolved. A day before this, Chief Minister and Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee had announced that her party would contest the elections alone. Jairam Ramesh told reporters at Bagdogra airport that Congress cannot even think of an ‘India’ alliance without Mamata Banerjee as she is indispensable in the fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party in the country. He said- If we have to defeat BJP in Bengal and India, then Mamata Banerjee is very much needed. Our leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have a lot of respect for Mamata ji. Congress General Secretary said – No one can imagine ‘India’ alliance without Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool. On Mamata Banerjee’s statement of fighting alone in West Bengal, Ramesh said that Congress is hopeful of resolving the seat-sharing deadlock. .

We want the impasse to end

He said- I do not want to comment on seat sharing, but we want this deadlock to end and we will find a solution. The senior Congress leader said that the party has invited Banerjee to participate in the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’. According to Ramesh, “We had sent invitations to Mamata ji twice to join the yatra. We all want him to be a part of the journey because our aim is the same to fight against the injustice prevailing in the country. Whereas citing lack of information about the yatra, Trinamool Congress has decided to stay away from the yatra.
