Shivraj is a strong contender for the post of Chief Minister

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has emerged as the hero of his party’s spectacular victory in the state assembly elections. He has been the Chief Minister from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the longest period. Shivraj is popularly known as Mama among the people of the state, especially among the children, while before becoming the Chief Minister, he is known as ‘paon-paon wale bhaiya’ because he usually walked on foot in his Lok Sabha seat Vidisha. To counter the anti-incumbency wave, Shivraj tried to create a favorable environment for the BJP in Madhya Pradesh by launching a game-changer scheme like ‘Laadli Brahmin’. However, his party did not project him as the chief ministerial face in the assembly elections held last month. BJP leader Chauhan, who became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for the fourth time on March 23, 2020, is recognized as a successful administrator as well as a very polite and friendly leader. Chauhan, born in a farmer family, has created history by becoming the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for the longest period of seventeen and a half years. He became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for the first time on 29 November 2005. Under his leadership, BJP won with a huge majority in the 2008 and 2013 assembly elections.
