The Meteorological Department said that in most of the districts of Jharkhand, the temperature was recorded below 10 degrees Celsius on Monday (January 15), the day of Makar Sankranti, while in eight districts the temperature remained below five degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Center has issued a warning saying that there is a possibility of cold wave in the western areas of Jharkhand including Chatra, Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla and Simdega districts of the state on Monday.

Ranchi’s minimum temperature is 6.4 degrees

The minimum temperature in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, was recorded at 6.4 degrees Celsius, which is 2.7 degrees below normal. Abhishek Anand said that similar weather will continue in the state till January 19. After January 16, the minimum temperature is likely to gradually increase by three to four degrees. During this period, there will be moderate to dense fog at some places in the state. The Meteorological Department has said that Vishnupur in Gumla district was the second coldest place in the state with 3.3 degrees Celsius. After this, the minimum temperature was 3.8 degrees in Chianki of Palamu district, 4.1 degrees in Khunti, 4.2 degrees in Latehar, 4.4 degrees in Lohardaga, 6.1 degrees in Bokaro and 6.7 degrees in Daltenganj.

It may rain in Ranchi for two days

Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that a drop in temperature has been recorded across Jharkhand with western to north-westerly winds blowing. There is a possibility of light rain in some areas of Jharkhand on 17 and 18 January. Abhishek Anand said that the capital Ranchi may also receive light rainfall on January 17 and 18. At the same time, on January 19, there may be fog or mist in Ranchi in the morning. However, the sky will clear later.
