When will there be artificial rain in Delhi? Know what Environment Minister Gopal Rai said

The people of Delhi are troubled by the air pollution. The air quality of the capital was also recorded in the severe category on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that there will be stagnation in the wind speed for 2-3 days, after which there is a possibility of the wind speed increasing. Due to this (air pollution) improvement can be seen. Regarding artificial rain, he said that this decision can be reached after observing the situation for the next 2-3 days. If the pollution level increases towards ‘severe’+ category then definitely the government will take a decision on it. Gopal Rai said that the pollution situation in the national capital will be observed for the next two or three days and only then a decision will be taken on odd-even or artificial rain. On Wednesday morning, two days after Diwali, Delhi’s air quality was recorded in the ‘very poor’ category.

A few days before Diwali, Delhi got some relief from the suffocating pollution due to rain in the country’s capital, but now the air quality has again reached poor condition which is troubling the people. Delhi’s air quality is expected to remain in ‘very poor’ category from Wednesday to Friday. Let us discuss here that the odd-even rule was to be implemented from November 13, but the efficacy of the odd-even scheme was questioned by the Supreme Court, after which it was decided to stop it. Talking about the odd-even rule, it reduces the number of cars on the road. This is because if the registration number ends with an odd then it is allowed to run on odd dates. The same applies with even numbers.

Earlier, Delhi’s Kejriwal government had talked about providing artificial rain through cloud seeding technique before November 20. Gopal Rai had a meeting with the IIT-Kanpur team regarding this. However, for this approval has to be obtained from the Centre. It has already been decided that Delhi government will bear the entire cost of artificial rain.

Meanwhile, senior scientist of IMD, Soma Sen has given information regarding the weather. He said that a low pressure area has formed over west-central Bay of Bengal. This system will intensify and move towards the north. There may be rain in Eastern India and Northeast India on 15, 16 and 17 November. There is a possibility of very heavy rain in the southern districts of West Bengal and the districts of north-coastal Odisha. Alert has been issued in these districts. A weak western disturbance is approaching. There may be snowfall and light rain in northern Jammu and Kashmir.
