Babul Supriyo, after the end of the discussion on the budget in the afternoon, before the end of the day’s proceedings, on the request of Bengal Assembly Speaker (Speaker) Biman Banerjee, played Kishore Kumar’s song ‘Kuch to log kahenge, log ka kaam hai kehna’. On this, the members of the ruling party present in the House applauded loudly. However, BJP MLAs were not present in the House then.
Minister was very angry on Ashok Lahiri’s comment
During the discussion on the state budget in the Assembly on Friday, Minister Babul became very angry over the remarks of economist and BJP MLA from Balurghat, Ashok Lahiri. Even Assembly Speaker and senior minister Arup Biswas had to intervene. This controversy started when Lahiri was giving his speech in the discussion on the budget.
Ashok Lahiri said- You understand music very well.
Meanwhile, Minister Babul made some comments. On this Lahiri told Babul that I like listening to your music very much. You understand music well. Talk about music only. Babul got very angry with this comment. Standing from his seat, Babul got up to answer, but the Speaker of the Assembly and his party minister stopped him from speaking. The Speaker said that there will be a chance to speak when the time comes.
Babul stood up to answer, but the opposition was not there.
Finally, 24 hours later, on Saturday, Babul got a chance, but Lahiri was not in the House at that time. All the BJP MLAs had left the House just before Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya’s reply speech on the budget. After Chandrima’s speech, the Speaker said- Babul, you should have a song today. This will improve the atmosphere of the assembly. On this Babul played this song of Kishore Kumar.
