Due to which the operation of trains on platform numbers 1 to 6 of Howrah was disrupted. Services on the Up and Down lines on Howrah-Bandel branch were completely suspended. Local trains kept stopping at one station after another. The crowd of office goers started increasing at the station.
Wartime level repair work done by Railways
Meanwhile, the Railways has started signal repair work on wartime scale. According to sources, due to this incident, about 22 local trains were disrupted in one hour. Not only local, trains like Ganadevata and Black Diamond also remained stopped at the station. In this regard, CPRO of Eastern Railway Kaushik Mitra said, the train service was disrupted due to mechanical fault at the entrance of Howrah station. However, work has been done at wartime level. Railway service returned to normal after about an hour.
