West Bengal: Sukant Majumdar demands intervention from Union Home Minister in Sandeshkhali case

State President of BJP, West Bengal Sukant Majumdar Has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and informed about the Sandeshkhali incident. Also, in his letter, he has expressed concern over the condition of the people living there. He wrote a letter to the Union Home Minister saying that the police had failed to arrest the accused in the troubled Sandeshkhali for the last three days. Due to this, law and order has collapsed in the area. He demanded immediate intervention from the Union Home Ministry in this regard. He said that instead of arresting the accused there, the police are now harassing the innocent villagers.

State BJP President also demanded NIA investigation into this incident

If this incident is not intervened soon, the situation may become more serious. Mr Majumdar wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah requesting him to take cognizance and intervene in this incident. It is noteworthy that earlier on January 5, ED officials had gone to raid the house of Trinamool leader Sheikh Shahjahan in Sandeshkhali and on the same day, ED officials were attacked. The state BJP president had also written a letter to the Union Home Minister demanding an NIA investigation into this incident. At present, the hearing of the case related to this is pending in the High Court.

Demonstration continues demanding arrest of Sheikh Shahjahan

Local women protested in Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district demanding the arrest of absconding Trinamool Congress leader Sheikh Shahjahan and his associates. Police said on Saturday that in view of the protest, prohibitory orders were imposed and internet services were suspended. On Friday, the second day of the protest, women took out processions in different areas of Sandeshkhali with sticks and brooms in their hands.
