West Bengal: Suddenly the prisoner’s mobile started ringing in the jail, a prisoner was caught after searching a lot

Kolkata, Vikas Kumar Gupta: of West Bengal Presidency Jail The jail wardens posted for security nearby were shocked to hear the mobile phone ringing suddenly in the ward inside the (Presidency Jail). After a lot of searching, an undertrial prisoner was caught red-handed by the jail security personnel while talking surreptitiously. The incident happened on Sunday night. The name of the arrested accused prisoner has been stated as Sahanur Islam. The Presidency Jail management immediately informed the police of Hastings police station. After which the police arrested Sahanur for talking on mobile phone in violation of jail rules.

The police have confiscated his mobile phone. After presenting the accused in Bankshall Court on Monday, instructions have been given to send the accused to judicial custody till December 30. Where did he bring the mobile phone from inside the jail? With whom had he contacted till now on mobile phone? The police is trying to find out whether he was threatening anyone by calling outside the jail. Here, an internal investigation has been started inside the jail as to how a mobile phone reached a prisoner inside the jail. Efforts are being made to reach the real accused by interrogating the security personnel deployed near that prisoner.
