West Bengal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone of Amrit Bharat Station Project

Kolkata, Vikas Kumar Gupta : Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Narendra Modi) on Monday laid the foundation stone of 554 Amrit Bharat station projects across the country through virtual medium. Under this campaign, Governor Dr. CV Anand Bose was present at the foundation stone laying ceremony organized at Bandel in Hooghly district on Monday. This inauguration ceremony was organized at Sharat Chandra Rail Institute adjacent to Bandel station. Several huge screens were installed in the station premises for live telecast of the Prime Minister’s virtual inauguration ceremony.

The Governor reached Bandel station by special train from Howrah station. There, General Manager of Eastern Railway, Milind K Deuskar gave the welcome speech in the program. After this it started with a cultural programme. It is being told that under the Amrit Bharat Project, the infrastructure of Bandel, Chandannagar and Dankuni railway stations of Hooghly district will be changed. Apart from this, redevelopment work of a total of 45 stations across the state will be done in the same manner. With this, construction work of 48 road over bridges and underpasses will start. A special strategy has been made to complete all these projects on time.

For the cost of making Bandel station world class allotted Rs 307 crore

According to the information received, only Rs 307 crore has been allocated for the cost of making Bandel station world class. Bandel station will be upgraded into a world class state-of-the-art station. India’s largest non-interlocking project has recently been completed in Bandel. On this occasion, General Manager of Eastern Railway Milind K Deuskar, Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Kumar and many other senior railway officials were present on this occasion. It is noteworthy that under this project the infrastructure of 17 stations of the state will be changed.

Underpasses on 1500 road overbridges across the country Will be done Construction

At the same time, along with developing a total of 554 stations across the country, underpasses will be constructed on 1500 road overbridges. At present, 9 projects are running in the state with a total cost of Rs 4100 crore. Rs 13,810 crore has been allocated to make the state’s four railway stations Howrah, Asansol, Bandel and Kolkata Terminal world class. This event was organized simultaneously at 2139 stations in the country on Monday.
