An accused has also been arrested in this incident. It is alleged that the district has been transformed into an armory before the Lok Sabha elections. Police have conducted special operations and recovered bombs and weapons at various places in the district like Bagbati to Bagtui, Madgram to Narayanpur, Basapada to Basjor, Nanoor to Siuri. But this time six 7 mm pistols, six bombs and two rounds of bullets have been recovered from a house in Hajipur village of Mallarpur police station.
The local police station has arrested the owner of the house, Badrul Mallik. The bomb site has been cordoned off by the police and the bomb squad team has been informed. The bombs were defused in an empty field in Hajipur village of the local police station area. The recovery of so many bombs and weapons has created a sensation in the area. This area is a densely populated area. It is noteworthy that Hajipur village is the border area of Birbhum and Murshidabad and is the border of two districts. Police of Mallarpur police station has started investigating the incident. It is not yet known for what purpose the pistols and bombs were collected.
The accused was taken to Rampurhat court where the judge sent him to police custody for four days. Meanwhile, regarding the incident of finding so many bombs and weapons in the district, District BJP Party President Dhruv Saha says that Birbhum district has been made to sit on a heap of bombs and gunpowder. Here, in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the district police is running a campaign in the villages to prevent crime and criminals. The result is that illegal weapons and explosives are continuously being recovered in the district.
