Burdwan/Panagarh, Mukesh Tiwari: On Wednesday, near Azhpur of Jamalpur police station area of East Burdwan district of West Bengal, the police seized about fifty cows along with their vehicle, which were being smuggled in a container. During this time, the police has also seized another container. Seeing this incident, the local villagers expressed their anger. The police have started investigating the matter. Local villagers say that out of about 50 cows that were being smuggled in a container on National Highway No. 19 near Ajhpur, some of them were being inhumanely loaded into another container.
The villagers immediately informed the police
Seeing this scene the local villagers got angry. Seeing the anger of the villagers, its driver and people ran away leaving the cows and the container. The villagers immediately informed the police. Police reached the spot and seized all the cows along with both the containers. Police say that about 50 cows were inhumanely brought here in a container with UP number plate and some cows were being loaded in another container. After the information of the villagers, all the above mentioned cows and both the containers have been confiscated. The primary estimate of the police is that the said cows were being smuggled illegally by hiding them in containers. The drivers and other employees of both the vehicles fled from the spot.
Lakhs of rupees stolen from bike trunk in Siuri
Lakhs of rupees kept from the trunk of a businessman’s bike were stolen in SP Mod area of Siuri police station area of Birbhum district. In this regard, the said businessman has complained to Siuri police station. He claimed before the police that about six lakh rupees were kept in the trunk of the bike, which had been stolen. Police have registered the case and started investigation. The footage of the CCTV camera installed at the spot is being scrutinized. The victim is paddy businessman Vimal Mandal, according to whom he had kept lakhs of cash in the trunk of the bike.
