West Bengal: Many trains canceled in Howrah branch till January 3, changes in routes, interlocking work will continue.

The work of commissioning of the third line is going on between Chatra and Murarai stations of Howrah division of West Bengal. For the above work, from 22 December to 2 January 2024 in Sahibganj Loop section. interlocking Work will be done. In such a situation, train operations between Chatra and Murarai stations will be affected. Due to train service being affected in the said section for 12 days, routes and destination stations of many trains have been changed and some have also been cancelled.

Many trains cancelled, routes changed

According to the release issued by the Railways, from January 22 to January 2, 13011 Howrah-Malda Town Intercity Express, 13031 Howrah-Jayanagar Express, 13027 Howrah-Azimganj Kaviguru Express, 13023 Howrah-Gaya Express in the up direction have been cancelled. Direction’s 13012 Malda Town-Howrah Intercity Express, 13032 Jaynagar-Howrah Express, 13028 Azimganj-Howrah Kaviguru Express, 13024 Gaya-Howrah Express have been canceled from December 23 to January 3. Apart from this, changes have been made in the routes of some trains.

Kolkata-Anand Vihar special train continues to operate.

To deal with the extra rush of passengers, operation of 03117/03118 Kolkata-Anand Vihar-Kolkata special train will continue as per its existing route, timings and stoppages. This decision has been taken by Eastern Railway. According to the release issued from Asansol Division of Eastern Railway on this effect, 03117 Kolkata-Anand Vihar special train will depart from Kolkata on 26th December and 03118 Anand Vihar-Kolkata special train will depart from Anand Vihar on 28th December. This train will have general second class, sleeper class and air conditioned class coaches.

Eastern Railway completes subway construction work

Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway has successfully completed the construction of 10 Limited Height Subways (LHS) in Krishnanagar-Lalgola section in a record time of five weeks. The project was approved in February 2023, replacing 12 manned level crossings with limited height subways. Kaushik Mitra, CPRO, Eastern Railway, said that this project, at a cost of Rs 42 crore, is a symbol of Railways’ dedication towards safety, punctuality and contemporary standards.
