Minister Jyotipriya Mallik, arrested in the ration scam, is in ED custody. Bankshall Court has handed over the responsibility of the minister’s treatment to the Command Hospital. However, Command Hospital does not want to take this responsibility. This is the reason why a petition has been filed in the Calcutta High Court on this matter on behalf of the Command Hospital. Judge Madhuresh Prasad of the Pooja Vacation Single Bench of the High Court transferred the case to the next bench. The hearing of this case is likely to be held on November 8. As per the instructions given by the court on this day, during his stay in ED custody, Minister Mallik can be brought to the Command Hospital for medical examination if needed. If needed, they can also be admitted. However, Justice Prasad said that the Command Hospital’s plea seeking relief from the responsibility of treating Mallik at a later stage can be considered only during the next hearing.
