The Income Tax Department in West Bengal has booked Trinamool Congress for alleged tax evasion. MLA Byron Biswas (MLA Byron Biswas, Around Rs 70 lakh in cash has been recovered during the search at his residence. He told that the search which started on Wednesday morning at the residence of the MLA in Samserganj in Murshidabad district of West Bengal ended late at night after about 19 hours. “We have recovered Rs 70 lakh in cash during the raid at the residence of Byron Biswas,” the officer said. There is no clarity on why such a huge amount was kept there. The MLA has not given any reaction in this matter. Biswas had won the by-election from Sagardighi constituency on Congress ticket, but later joined Trinamool Congress.
